FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I purchase your preservation services?
CLICK HERE to view our Retailer Locations web page.
I have already purchased the Premier Preservation Kit. What is the next step?
CLICK HERE to view simple instructions for our preservation kits.
Do I need to have my garment cleaned before I send it to you?
No. We take care of the entire cleaning process to assure your garment will come out perfect for you. Remember to attach stain stickers to areas of the garment that may need special attention. There is not a need to attach stickers on the hem line as we will pay close attention to this commonly soiled area.
How long should I wait before I send my garment to you?
Your garment should be cleaned and preserved as soon as possible after wearing. Stains are much harder to remove after time and are more likely to set in. Also, fabric weakens over time when it is not in a preserved environment.
Can heirloom items such as Grandpa's military uniform or Grandma's wedding dress be preserved?
Absolutely! The sooner the garment is preserved, the better.
What other items can I send along with my garment to be preserved?
Up to three items are included in our preservation services such as: veil, headpiece, gloves, garter, moneybag, handkerchief, slip, or a flower girl's gown. Depending on the size of the items, additional fees could apply. Please call 800-847-5888 if you have questions.
What type of optional repairs can be done to my garment?
Premier Preservation Company prides itself on having a highly trained staff that can handle most repairs for a nominal fee. Make a note on your order form of the service you would like us to provide. CLICK HERE for a listing of available services and costs. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
If I've purchased a Preservation Kit, how do I ship my garment?
Round-trip shipping is included in your preservation package. Simply attach the label to your shipping box provided in the kit. Keep the tracking number for your reference. Take the box containing your garment to the nearest FedEx shipping location.
How can I be sure that you have received my garment for preservation?
For the quickest response, please visit the Tracking & Garment Status page of our website. You will need to have the tracking number that you attached to your order form. If you provided an e-mail address on your order form, you will be notified via e-mail when your garment ships back to you. If you have any additional questions about the process, please call us at 800-847-5888.
What does the standard insured value of $500 cover?
The $50o standard insured value covers your gown up to a maximum of $500. If your garment is valued over $500, we suggest you purchase our Diamond Upgrade which gives you an insured value of $1500 total. You also have the option of purchasing additional insurance at $2 per every $100 in insured value. | To learn more about our Diamond Upgrade, CLICK HERE.
What exactly is the process you use to clean the garments?
Upon receiving the garment, our specialist will inspect and thoroughly  identify any stains, paying close attention to the areas that you marked with 'stain stickers.' We take precautions to protect delicate beading, embroidery, and lace during the cleaning process. After the proper cleaning method is completed, we steam or press the garment for the final finish. It is then preserved in our acid-neutral box and acid free tissue. We shrink wrap the preserved Preservation Chest with acid free shrink wrap to guarantee a safe environment for your garment.
What type of box will my garment be preserved in?
We use a three component preservation system. Our acid neutral Preservation Chest is the inner box used for preserving your garment. It has a display window allowing you to view your treasured item. The Preservation Chest (1) is enclosed in a sturdy, Storage Box (2) - an additional barrier - that protects the garment from light. Both containers are enclosed in a Shipping Box (3) that protects them during the shipping process.
What stains are removed during the cleaning process?
We can remove most stains from your garments. Stains from perspiration, mud, grass, blood, dirt, tar and food are the most common. Sugar stains, blood and wine are the most difficult. However, the sooner you get the garment to us, the easier the stain removal!
Do you send my dress somewhere else after I ship it to you?
All preservation services are done on site at Premier Preservation. Our facility is located in Trenton, Illinois.
Do you charge additional for larger garments?
No.  We will provide an oversize box at no additional charge.
How long does it take to ship to me once you receive my garment?
Our preservation process can be as short as two weeks. During our peak times, you may experience a longer process time of up to ten weeks. We do offer a priority service, at an additional fee, to guarantee turnaround time within two weeks.
What does insurance cover?
All packages have an insured value starting at $500. If the retail value of your garment exceeds $500, you can opt to purchase additional insurance to cover the full retail value. Or, the Diamond Package has an insured value of $1500. Be sure to list the cost of your wedding gown or garment on your order form.
If I want to insure more value, what do I need to do?
Check the box on your order form for additional insured value.  The cost is $2.00 for every $100 of insured value.
What will I be able to see through the display window of the Preservation Box?
You are able to see your garment and veil through the display window. Other items are positioned near the bottom of the window, whenever possible, or underneath the gown.
Can I look at my dress after it’s preserved?
The Preservation Chest is shrink wrapped for additional protection and is an important part of its preservation. However, you can view your dress through the display window on the Preservation Chest. If you choose to break the seal of the shrink wrap, we can re-box the garment at an additional charge.
Where should I store my Preservation Chest and garment?
Store your Preservation Chest in a cool, dry place such as a closet or under your bed. Never store your preserved garment in an attic or basement where it may be subject to extremes in temperature.
Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee once I receive my garment?
Yes. If you are not satisfied with your preservation package after receiving the garment, you have 60 days to return it to us. We will re-process the garment at no charge.
Is my garment guaranteed after sixty days?
Yes. We provide a LIFETIME GUARANTEE against caramelized sugar stains or yellowing. If at any time your garment is found to have yellowed or has caramelized stains, we will re-process the garment at no additional cost.
Where should I direct any questions or concerns I have?
